1. Most patchwork fabric is sold in 44/45" widths (or 114/115 cm. widths). 1 yard, or 1 metre of fabric produces 4 FQ's. If it cost you £6.00 per yard or metre, then one quarter of this is £1.50p. Decide how much profit you want to make. An FQ is a standard measurement of 18 x 22 inches or 46 x 56 centimetres but most people just divide a metre, or yard into 4 pieces which means it's slightly over, but the amount involved isn't usually worth keeping yourself and creates goodwill from the buyer.
Although we refer to fat quarters a lot, for obvious reasons, you can sell whatever quantity of fabric you want to whether its pre-cut squares, hexagons, or whatever to as many metres or yards of fabric you want to offer.
2. Having decided how much profit you want, calculate how much Pay Pal will take as a percentage. You should estimate this as about 12p in the £ presently and more if a foreign currency charge is involved.
3. www.fatquarters.net charges you £12 per annum, or £1 per month. Divided across 200 sales this amounts to a charge of 6p per upload per annum. So if you are selling one item of the article for sale that will be the charge. If you sell 2, it'll be 3p, 4 will be 1.5p and so on. You need only to make one entry where you have a large amount to sell and that's good for a whole year. So if you uploaded 200 items, and had for sale 4 of each of them, the actual cost to you of selling the 800 would be 0.15 of a penny.
4. Including postage costs. There is always a problem with postage on sites like this and you will find more information on www.FatQuarters.net policy on the 'selling' page.
